MICHAEL CHILDS DRUMS, PERCUSSION, LEAD & BACKGROUND VOCALS
email: mjcbuild@att.net |
Having spent his early musical years as a concert and jazz band saxaphonist, Michael always had a hidden desire to play drums, and began perfecting his skills in the late '60s, drumming in the pop rock bands "Standard Inversion" & "Fyr". Self-taught, his natural rhythm became evident and allowed him to develop vocals while drumming. Influenced by the heavy-hitters of the hard rock craze, he purchased a large kit with double bass drums and headed down a new path. Michael joined "Stormcrow" in the early 70's and was very influential in creating the band's trademark heavy rock sound and multiple vocal harmonies. For the next several years they performed at countless school, college and club dates with the eventual backing of a number of national bands. In the early '80s, Michael joined the band "Paris" and recorded on their self-titled debut album of pop rock originals. 1987 would bring the 10-year reunion of the original members of "Stormcrow", a tour that went on for about 4 years. In 1992, Michael joined the country rock band of "Robbins and Wheeler", recording on their debut album as well as performing at county & state fairs. As "Stormcrow" launched their 20th reunion tour in 1998, he was able to assemble 4 of the 5 original members performing into the new century. As the remaining original member of the band, he carries forth the "Stormcrow" tradition from its roots, melding the talents of the current musicians who collectively produce yet another exciting incarnation of "Stormcrow".

BILLY STONE LEAD & BACKGROUND VOCALS, KEYBOARDS, PERCUSSION |
Billy began his musical career in "Stormcrow" with five of the original members and has collaborated with the band to build strong three-part harmonies. As an added sixth member of the group at the time, Billy started out playing keyboards, some lead and background vocals. Now 17+ years and numerous member line-ups later, he feels honored to front Stormcrow and to be a part of this group of five very talented musicians, performing at different rock venues for all ages, spanning over three decades of classic rock.

GREG WENDORF BASS GUITAR, BACKGROUND VOCALS |
Greg began playing bass guitar in 1970 when he realized that playing the six-string guitar wasn't working for him. His main influences have been John Entwistle (The Who) and Jack Bruce (Cream, etc.). Greg's first experience in music was in a three-piece "garage band", he says that, "Literally, we hardly ever got out of the garage.". Next stop was in a country-rock band in the mid-70's. Then in the early '80s, with the help of a couple of guitarist friends, he started "The Loud Fast Noise Boys & The Noisettes". He also found himself in a lounge act with one of "The Noisettes" on lead vocals. Then in the 90's he had revised "The Noise Boys" sans "The Noisettes" that time around. He has since joined "Stormcrow" in the spring of 2005 and is very happy where he is at the moment.

RAY HUGHES LEAD & RHYTHM GUITARS, BACKGROUND VOCALS |
Growing up in a musical family, Ray started playing guitar at any early age. Since he was left handed, with a shortage of left-handed guitars available at the time, he soon realized the advantages of a "lefty" learning to play right-handed guitar. Initially taking lessons for a little over a year, he advanced on his own studying techniques and styles of rock, blues, & jazz guitar. His main influences have been Jimi Hendrix, Robin Trower, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Pete Townsend and Eric Clapton. Ray began playing in various rock bands starting with "Blackwater Fever" in the early '70s, followed by "Starcruiser" in the late 70's thru '80s. Throughout the mid-90s and early 2000's, he played in the blues/rock power-trio "Rude Mood". Finally, in the late fall of 2006, Ray joined up with "Stormcrow" and says, "I'm having a great time!".
